Century old millinery techniques created to ensure elegant finishings combine with the high tech materials necessary to turn this classic hat style into a practical bicycle accessory.
3” Protective Brim
A dermatologist approved 3” halo brim evokes imagery of Sophia Loren along the Amalfi Coast while shading the skin.
A comfort-fit elastic cuff keeps the cover fastened to the helmet at speeds up to 30mph. The fibers of the elastic band are performance moisture-wicking with the terry side oriented to wick sweat away from the face. This keeps one looking elegant in all weather.
Reinforced Brim
A memory plastic reinforcement wire is sewn into the brim with a tried and true millinery technique utilizing a grosgrain binding. This attention to detail means the brim will maintain integrity even if the hat is scuffed or a thread breaks.
Ready For Hat Helmet
The Straw Hat Bike Helmet bundle includes the hat-style cover and the separate base helmet, the Comfort Helmet. This updated design features eleven vent holes for superior airflow. Designed to the US CPSC specifications, this elegant helmet passed all US CPSC tests.
Based on customer feedback, the ready-for-hat Comfort Helmet feature a roomier side-to-side fit as compared to the original YAKKAY helmet. The extra width makes the helmet more comfortable, especially with for those with a rounded head profile.

Head Circumference
Average adult head size is about 22.5 inches (57 cm), which falls within the US Medium Comfort Helmet. The Comfort Helmet comes in two sizes, each with an interior dial-a-fit adjuster for a customizable fit.
- US Medium: 21 to 23.5 inches (54–60 cm)
- US Large: 23 to 24.25 inches (59–61 cm)
